Bike Week Laconia

If you are in the neighborhood, my cousin just opened a new restaurant in Loudon, The Hungry Buffalo, at the intersection of 106 and 129. Stop in and say hi!

Great bit of Laconia history. Was there in 1965 riots. It was started by guys who had short hair, no beards, etc.
Looked more like Yale college students than Hells Angels. They initially started it by tipping over car (man with
wife and two children escaped from car when they started rocking it). Tipped car on its side, removed gas cap and
put match into tank setting car on fire. My wife and I were 10-15 feet away. Newspapers had it all wrong as far as
saying motorcyclists started rioting.
National Guard and State Police were just trying to get everyone out of area. Local cops were out of control
and hitting bikers with billy clubs as they were trying to get out of area. It was a scary experience.
