Thanks RogerJ. Yes it was great to get to sample some of Australia's finest beverages in their natural habitat. Hope your last big trip went well and that you've sorted your handlebar vibe problem. Mine didn't give me a vibe issue at all, no doubt helped by grip puppies and cruise control.

Grip Puppies are the bomb. They are the first thing I add to a new bike and same will be for the Tenrere when it finally arrives.

I'm planning out a similar ride. Thanks for posting. I'm thinking about heading up to Uluru from the south. Also wanting to head through the Snowy River range.

Any firm plans and dates yet? Not sure if company is your thing, but I'm looking to do similar too.

Australia looks so different than anything Ive seen here in the US- loved to see the scenery as it changed throughout your lap. Cool to see 3 generations riding together; my dad rode back in the day, but he died before I got my drivers license and I never got to ride with him, so good on you guys

Cameron is 6' 7" tall. He comes off licence restrictions soon and is looking to upgrade to something taller in the saddle, with a little more poke, ABS and great bang for buck. The Versys 1000 is currently the front runner.

I still look back on the trip and think its the best thing I've ever done with my family (well, with the blokes side of it anyway ). The year before, my dad had a heart attack and needed quad bypass surgery, so was, and still is, lucky to be alive. You've gotta grab those opportunities while you can, so we did!

Great ride. I am a Queanbeyan boy myself. The roundabout at Batemans Bay looks so familiar.

Ah, Bundaberg Rum! I remember trying that for the first time while in Adelaide. Great stuff, and great memories.
