MANY pounds of BB's blasted,,,,and no eyes shot out or hospital visits required.

Now sling shots, lawn darts/ sharp darts, cherry bombs/silver salutes and arrows were a different matter.

Sling shots

I have a story about an epic sling shot battle between warring neighbor kids but it too long for here.

It involves 10+ kids on each side. Wooden sling shots using chinaberries. No eyes were put out but there was a broken arm and lots of bruises and large whelps, and of course pain and punishment after from dad...

Ahhh those were the days. I was 9 or 10.

BTW - eye protection! What - not even thought of back then.

I guess you would know if they were real or not. I can find that pic again if you really need a new profile pic. (or make a few adjustments and make it even better)

Yeah, I probably should be.

On the eharmony mugshot, I will see if I can work on one for ya. I only have that one image so I will be limited on what I can do, but I will do my best with what I have to work with.

Thank you Inept. I wish more people would help like this. I will put it to good use. Maybe a quick test is in order.

Ouch...that hurts all over again! That coulda turned out a whole lot worse than it did, Green Beret Mike initially thought I had torn my cornea

And while this didn't happen on a bike, it coulda turned out a whole lot worse too--barbed wire to the eyeball is never a good thing ya know:

We sure manage to do some damage to our eyes around here, among other things. You'll shoot yer eye out, kid!

I can't find the pic but I have one of those "poke in the eye" pics too. Raised my shield when we went off the trail and managed to get a stick in the eyeball. Hurt like hell and looked even worse. I went to the eye doctor the following day because it felt like something was stuck in my eye that I couldn't get out. When they did the "puff" test, it dislodged it. Then when the eye doctor looked and said he didn't see anything he noticed a black spec by the corner of my eye and got it with a Q-Tip. That was a small piece of bark or the branch. I know next time to leave after the "puff" test cause they made me come back for a few followups for nothing other than the fees.

Another close call was caused by a 1" pipe on my tire changer that hit me below the eye when I was pulling on it to put a tire on and I slipped in my puddle of sweat. It was the day before the TT or some event a few years back at Spec Pond. I probably needed stitches but used a little fix made for bowlers that they use on their thumbs or something. It is like super glue and gauze. I didn't want to dissappoint Karen as she was excited to go to the ride so I went with a black eye .
