TreeFest '14

Hey POGs, while perusing the KLR forums I saw where Treeman's rally was scheduled for March 7-9, I haven't missed a TreeFest yet and hope to continue the tradition. Treeman's place is a couple miles west of Sneads FL, about 150 mi. from P-cola, and the event's worth the trip. ~7 miles worth of single track thru the woods, and Beastie Bike 50/50 rides...you'll see GS's and 2-stroke MX bikes out there, and everything in between

The singletrack ain't exactly "GS-friendly"

But Friends will help you out when needed

Hope to see y'all out there...

Treemans!

I was wondering about that! Thanks for reminding us.

I will put it on my calendar for sure. I think I missed the first one but made all the others.

Release the Kraken! Again!

Dirt dobbers do in my trophys

Dug them out of a tattered cardboard box in the barn.
They're scattered here and there.
They look bad.

Lookin at them still brought back good memories.

Yea for trophies

after 45 years of racing I have collected a few trophies. There are only two that really mean anything to me.

Here is one from 1975 Stone Mountain National
(it is missing the actual piece of stone from the mountain)

If you look close you can see

And then this one from 1982 when I was really riding hard. Now that Im old I was really fast back in the day...
But this proves I was pretty fast when I was young(er)

the bowl is actually silver plated thus the tarnish...

You guys got me missing the old race days...my first Enduro was in Gainesville Florida in 1968 on a Honda 305 scrambler.

You got that right, Maestro...

Here's a scene from the Sneads Kraken Release of 2013:

Things do get interesting when enough Kraken gets released...a couple years ago at Treeman's, I hallucinated a snow leopard

Farrrrr out, man

P.S. You Certified Old-Timers talkin about trophies in the 70's takes me right back to the days of my childhood, when I wasn't winnin any trophies--because they didn't give out trophies for Chuckleheadery, ya know.

Vic, my dad also had a Honda 305 Scrambler sometime around '68, I think he's got a couple pics of it, that reminds me I need to scan them...

Cleaning and Packing up crap at the house, trying to get it ready to put up for sale, Found my old bicycle riding shorts, good news is the elastic is still good as new, got these when i bought the bike in 1990 in lafayette, bad news is they no longer fit. But I did find 4 bottles of Seam Sealer 3, and a Batamax video tape. So I got that going for Me.

I'd hate to be a fly on the wall when Kevin was clearing out his house.... Do they make eye bleach in fly sized bottles?

Cool2 Cheap Truck

Can get bikes around again.
It's been a while.
Looks worse than it is, and I like it that way.
Looking forward to some laid back geezer rides.
