You dont quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.
I don't always ride street bikes, but when I do I prefer VStroms

Reg sent me this video and it reminded me of what Vic said this past sunday at the antique bike show in Dauphin Island.
Vic stopped and pointed at a 196? Honda 305 Superhawk scrambler (CL) and mentioned that he use to race one just like it back in the 60's.

I didn't start riding until 1971, but distinctly remember a fella riding a Triumph twin that could make that bike scoot through the woods.
Kinda like this fella's Triumph Scrambler starting at about 1:47 seconds on:

Awesome vid.... watched it a couple of time..

I have always wanted a Triumph... but never a Harley... strange..

Anyway, something about the word "Scrambler" that is cool.

Those guys rode the big bikes through the woods and shit like that cause nobody told them then couldn't. They just did it.

I think I will watch the vid again... and just skip to the last part..

The difference between me and him? 30 Years

Oh BTW who cannot like a vid that starts with "Stairway to Heaven"

Don't tell Swampy--but that feller started doin a wheelie around the 1:19 mark and it looked very reckless and illegal. Shocking, I tell you, shocking

In addition to the state park's regular campground, they've got a primitive camping area that ya hafta hike a mile to get to, and it's only $5 a night. The park ranger told me over the phone, yeah, those primitive campsites are, uh, very secluded; ya won't need a reservation. My kinda place, my kinda price.

I'll prolly ride EG all the way to 331, jump on 20 at Freeport, then 77 down to PC, then 98 over to Mexico Beach, where I'll eat a late lunch at the Fish House. Then it's an easy 25-mile cruise over to San Blas and a thorough sunset inspection. Break camp not too early Sat. AM, and head up to Vernon FL for lunch. Seen the movie, but never been there. Then north to 90 and west to Crestucky, where I'll pay my baby sister a visit and arrive back home by dark or thereabouts.

OK--so I know this is sorta late notice, but I just recently decided for sure I was gonna do this. The weather's the deciding factor, and if it changes for the worse all bets are off. But if any of this sounds good to any of you FF's, well consider yerselves invited. First shot of Kraken is on me. OK well maybe the second shot too
You panhandlers have all the good riding chit up there!

Try Dee's Restaurant in Vernon... On the east side of Hwy 79... Just before the bridge. Nice little place. Good food. Might even see a weirdo from the movie there...

Well now we might not have all of it, but we've definitely got some of it! I'm still jealous of the DOGs and their North GA playground
