Good choice, as you know Shane, myself, Dren and Oly did Rudall River last year?(or the year before),Shane pulled out in Newman after hitting a treenot many trees up there but Shane found one, Rudall river is remote, poorly sign posted, a long way from anywhere but thats why we go,Jigalong Mission - you need permits to fuel up.
Can't wait.....

Rudall River sand

More Sand!!

The road in

Front tyre blow out Skull Springs rd

great ride, great place, but I recon harder then Neale Junction - Beware!!
I'll put $10 down now that Bully will come up with some lame excuse why he can't go!!

I first rode through Rudall, solo in 1988 on my GS 80PD.

I went back in 2003 with my mate John and Pilbara from this site.

Kelvin (Pilbara) wrote a report in a couple of parts for those that may be interested in Desert Queen baths.

Subscribed as ordered.

This is up my way too, and everytime I see adventure riders in TP I suggest they go along the skull springs road. top notch little area. I was in the very early stages of planning a CSR ride next winter, now I think I might go across to The Finke again in 2012, Rudall River in 2013.

I actually went riding with Pilbara (first time I've met him) on the weekend - a bit of exploring around Witennoom - fantastic fun. He had a nasty fall down a rocky ledge. Probably fell about 4 feet and his 450 landed on top of him. It was too serious for me to take a photo, but luckily the blokes behind me had a more practical view of the incident and apparently did get some photos of the recovery. He was unhurt (so he said).

I didn't pay enough attention to the exact route, but there is a nasty patch of real bulldust along the roy hill road, first I'd ever seen. About 100metres long and a foot deep - nasty for 1200's, funny to watch for me!

It would be good to do this ride next year as 2013 seems such a long way off - what about making it an annual Desert Raid?!!

Sounds good

Got a mate at karatha, probably need to visit him about then. I think it should just give me enough time to convice the minister for war and finance that I need to do this! That is if eastern staters are allowed to partake?

philcwa screwed with this post 07-02-2011 at 06:36 AM Reason: can't spell aboriginal names too well
