Another Ride and Camp Report!

DAY 1

Past couple of days the weather was beautiful!
Blue skies ...85+F...I was itching to go camping again...

John h called me on Friday night and we decided to meet up in Jamestown on Saturday morning.

Next morning the blue skies were nowhere to be seen...it was a rain smell in the air...
I checked my iPhone weather app...20% rain...

I met John around 10am in Jamestown, got some gas and headed up the hill...

The sky was overcast all the time but air was warm and fresh...

We stopped here and there for a little brake and pictures...

As we got higher we started to see snow on the side of the road...then more and more...
People were still riding snow mobiles by the lake...so we took some pictures and headed down the hill to look for warmer place to camp...

Took some side roads, but they were blocked by fallen trees...
We chopped, moved or drove around some of them...

..but eventually found the road block that was too much work...

...so we headed back to look for another spot...

Finlay I spotted a spot tucked away from the road...with a little creek near by and plenty of firewood...

In no time the fire was cracking, shoes drying and dinner cooking...

We spend the rest of the night sitting by fire...solving the world problems ...

..to be continued...

DAY 2

We were up around 7am...fire, coffee and breakfast...
The skies were blue and clear...it's going to be nice day...

I took a wrong turn and we ended up a little of course...
This was a good place to get the bearings back...
From here was 2 options: Go back where we came from or go around this mountain...we chose second option.

We tried several dirt roads and again had to chop, move or ride around some fallen trees.
Eventually we ended up staring at a tree that was too big to chop or move or ride around
so we headed back and tried another dirt road...

Finlay we were home free...

John popping a wheelie...:)

Last miles of dirt road...

On the way home we visited a "little dragon"...

And then we parted our ways...until next time we meet...!

I have couple more ride reports...and will try to post them soon...

Those switchbacks look really refreshing.

Makes me want to get out of Texas for a little while.

Great stuff! I always like when people include camp shots. It completes an appreciation for the experience, almost like being there.
