One ELR is a rare sighting, but four!

I can still recall seeing those ELR's on the showroom floor of the shop (Kawasaki of Denver) I worked at in '83. I could only afford the GPz-550 that year.

Every time I get on the bike for a ride I think about how fortunite I am to live in this area. I grew up riding/racing harescrambles in these mountains and then when I moved to street riding I was found on any given weekend out there as well.

Need to get one more trip in out there before the 10mph leaf peepers show and shut down every major road across the blue ridge. :/ Ill post some of my favorite photos tonight when I get home.

Great thread!

Love the morning rides, watching the fog lift off the smokies. One of my favorite things to do is leave around 4am and watch the sunrise in my mirror and watch the fog lift out of the valley's as I make my way through.

Best time to ride Deals Gap is early in the morning or just at sunset. 6am on Hwy 28 heading to 129.

Sunsrise on the Skyway

Nice lake at the base of the skyway (Robbinsville Side)

Love the Parkway.

As much as I love these roads... they have a way of reminding you who is boss. One of my best riding partners high sided at 60+mph. This is my reminder every time I enter the mountain roads. They are not a race track and we were treating it like that on that day. Thankfully he walked away. My SPOT tracker was the only way we got help out there that day as there was no cell service. Its worth its weight in gold to me.

Hwy 421 - Shady Valley, TN. (Pre-life lesson seen above)

West Jefferson area

One fathers day, Dad and I rode and camped our way down the BRP from end to end.

Thats all I have on Photobucket at the moment. Ill upload more later.

Love this sign. (Blue Ridge Parkway)

Ice still on the BRP in early spring...

No, this isnt a photoshop. Up in Virginia off state road 40 outside of Smith Mountain Lake. Still trying to figure out what came first, the road number or the church.

Love these old barns scattered across the valleys.

Heading up to WV I think...

WV

BRP, Near the Pisgah Inn

The weather isnt always perfect.... Joey's Clearwater Krista's cut through the fog nicely. Looks like a space ship coming at you.

This photo was taken on the other side of the same mountain that above photo was taken, 30 minutes after the above photo. Mountain weather... its hit and miss.

In the colder months...when the white stuff falls.

My other expensive hobby that takes place on the blue ridge mountains...

Hiking the profile trail at Grandfather Mtn. (new years 2012/2013)

60mph sustained winds with a few inches of freezing rain the night before. notice the horizontal icecycles on the rock in the back ground.

snowboarding at Beech Mountain.
