Last Night...

Last night I got home and Luke was hard at work on the TL125. Nice surprise to come home and find the elves busily at work!

He had pulled the carb apart and found a cracked float, he cleaned it and soldered it up.

Then he test rode it;

Show off!

Then he got serious and started mounting tires for the SL350. First we had to drill the rear rim for a bead lock;

And then Luke had to fix the hole I drilled cuz' it wasn't quite straight;

Glad I have skilled friends;

Ready to clean up brakes, bearings, etc and install wheels;

Are you weighing it before and after drilling?

This ain't about weight reduction... it's about playing with power tools and looking cool! In most cases, the best weight reduction plan would be to eat fewer biscuits. Of course that's just me...

Rick is not your standard ADV rider, he isn't carrying an extra 20 or 30 lbs around with him.

Who the f$@! gave you a drill and access to a motorcycle?? I guess the rehab just didn't work out....

But on the positive side, now it will be much easier for mud and dirt to drain out of the brake shoes

There are just some things that must be done..... Luke builds bikes out of multiple models, Oregon Coast has to race M1000 one way or another and LCGarage has to drill holes. Don't fight it, it's just the way it is.

Baby steps... when I was working on the TL float I had two carbs open on the bench and he didn't try to polish anything.

Wow. And for those who don't know, this is what Rick uses to "polish" anything on a motorcycle:
