Yeah, but unlike texans we don't brag about it.

Spent a delightful afternoon fighting multiple grass fires between Weimar and La Grange with temps exceeding 100F.

We've had five fires in the first six days of August including a railroad trestle that we battled for most of one night.

Burning creosote makes for a miserable experience...

We're expecting a cold front... sometime in late October. Maybe we'll have some rain by then.

Tomorrow, I'm riding my Triumph over to Schulenburg to hear "The Triumphs", a local garage band whose members have played together for more than 50 years. Time for a break.

Stay safe out there NFE!

But don't worry about the rain's arrival. By the time that comes, all the fuel will have been long consumed.

Well, it was new to me. I'm a bit of a hermit. ;)

I've been seeing one or two funny ones. My sister got a texted color-coded mostly red map of our area of the country that said NWS Warning: JUST FUCKING DON'T GO OUTSIDE

So after all my bragging, something like 4 hours of sleep last Sat morning combined with a lot of riding Sat, and a largish burger put me in a coma in the afternoon.

Stopped in the shade of a gas station to cool off, and before I knew it I woke up to a cop coming out of the shop asking if I was alright. I guess some dude slumped on a bike, head on lid, lid on tankbag is a bit unusual. I mean, I've slept on a bike before, but never slumped forward on the tank, it's always been a much more planned "kick heels over handlebars, torso/head against the sissybar/luggage.

So I took the hint and parked my hot self on a park table a mile or so down the road until the sun started setting.

Like I said, Does this Heat Ever End?

Get to work at 0715.

Leave work at 1745.

That's what, 10.5 hours of sitting? My water temp was still 107 degrees farenheight when I left. Good news is I don't have to worry about warming up my engine. Fire up and head right on out!

Relief is coming, still a couple of months away but it is coming. Hold on to that and before too long we'll be rejoicing in the glorious prime Texas motorcycling weather.

This morning they gave our average high temp so far for August. 106.8. That is ridiculous.

Was actually cooler here this morning. Was 84 when I went to lunch. First time in weeks the temp read less than 100 when I went to get in my car for lunch.

We had overcast skies and the smell of rain here this morning. The sun burned it off by about 10 or so.

Hey the Waco and surrounding areas have a 30% chance for rain Friday August 12............all I can say is PLEASE ! ! ! May need to wash and wax the car, truck and even the bike, leave the windows down on the truck, ride the bike to work and forget my wet weather gear, do a naked rain dance, what ever it takes.
