Question Bike Hire in Pennslyvania

Hello from Australia

My wife is thinking of going to a reunion at North Bedford High School next year, she was there as an exchange student a long time ago.

I was wondering about bike hire nearby, does anyone have advice or recommendations. It would be nice to see a bit of country on the back of a bike whilst there. Looking for a dual purpose bike.

Thanks in advance

Mike

Still in the planning stages, but we would be near Bedford, PA, in June next year. Was thinking about hiring a motorbike for a week or 2 to get out and see the area. Will probably fly into New York, maybe pick one up near there is an option. I ride a F650GS, and want something similar that can be taken down an unsealed road. We will probably also have a hire car, as the missus won't get on a bike!
On the net I found Country Road Cycles nearby, that hire out Wee-stroms, but looking for any other suggestions / recommendations.

Cheers

Mike

I checked out the County Road Cycles site. It's on the other side of the state from me. Maybe Skyclad will see this, he lives around that part of the state and might be familure w/that place. What about helmet, boots and gear?

Eagle Rider has places in NY and NJ. Looks like mostly hardleys. My other thought would be calling Hermy's BMW in Port Clinton PA and see if the would rent one of there demo bikes. Keep us posted and you will have plenty of tour guides available.

Thanks for the info.

Regarding gear, I would probably purchase a new jacket and helmet, as USA prices are cheaper than us, and then post them home.

Will keep you updated

If you want to pick up the bike in NYC, there's Jupiter's Motorcycle Rentals. They have the little and big GSes. Not cheap at $800-$1,000/week.
