West Side

I too am on the west side. I have a bike for just about any type of riding (and usually one of them is running at any given time ), so feel free to PM me or post for rides. I do hope to make tomorrow though, I just really want to finish my old XS650 street tracker first. I think it has only been out ~3 days in the last five years.....just a small custom wheel swap project complete with powder coating at home.

Looking outside right now- and I wish I was riding somewhere!!

It is the wife's night out, however. I am earning points I shall redeem soon!

To you west-side/west-of-madison folks... thanks for the feedback thus far.

Please PM me suggestions regarding location (City/restaurant) and day of week that typically works best. Also whether you think it is better to wait until after July 4th before attempting a meet.

Off to mow the lawn.

Just a thought- rather than have a west side group and an east side group, why not just vary the locations throughout the "greater Metro area."

West (Riley's)
South East (Heather's)

Next? (after 7/4) .. perhaps SW, NW, N, S, inside the Beltline, outside...

Well, my reasons are purely selfish.

If I am coming all the way into Madison (or beyond) after work, then I have no choice but to run my KLR wide-open on 18/151 or (less than wide-open ) on Hwy 14 the whole way into Madison and back.

And, as much I as I wanna meet-n-greet with y'all, I do not want to do it that bad.

Since "the ride" is about as important to me as the M-n-G, I'd rather have a destination this side of Madison- close enough that I can route creatively instead of racing to make the M-n-G and then racing home to beat the deer.

Flames are welcome via PM!

Tom

Passing Through

Hi all,

I may be able to make it tonight, albeit on four wheels.

I am passing through, but will be in Madison, off and on, through the end of August when our oldest daughter gets married. The bigger picture is that we are moving from NH back to Denver. I have my KLR650 and WR250F in tow.

Question--the KLR has suffered neglect these past few years as I have been riding the WR almost exclusively. Is there someone here in Madison that you all recommend I take it to: runs poorly even after cleaning the carb (twice) and needs new shock seals? Feel free to PM me so I don't end up hijacking this perfectly good thread.

Thanks and hope to meet some of you this evening,

Jay

another easy check if you carb isn't the culprit....check your valve clearances....super simple to do and not worth paying a dealer for...Sorry I have yet to find a mechanic that I recommend in the area. However I can absolutely recommend a top notch mechanic near Denver. The name of the shop is Epic Motorsports in Longmount, CO and the mechanics name is Eddie Sisneros.....TOP notch work, EXTREMELY competitive price wise and customer service second to none. Simply put I live in WI and ship most of my stuff there-its worth the shipping charges(and usually ends up finished quicker and cheaper.)

Hopefully next time....when we head westward.

It was fantastic, I think there were about 15 of us there.

Great time! Thanks for calling it out, Zora.

I found my camera that I forgot to use.

But I made it home in 50 minutes, with a gas stop!
