Sounds like you all had a good time, and what great weather yesterday. I will have to work something out so I can make it to one of the upcoming meets.

Damn sorry I missed it again. I forgot my boys had swimming lessons and by the time I got back home it was too late.

Work Day

Playing hookey today to finish up the XS650 and finish dismantling the XT600 for starter & muffler repair. I'm on the SW side and will provide free beer to anyone bored enough to help (or we could just go riding). PM me if interested.

Great folks, food, and most importantly, intel

This noob thank's y'all for all the info and tips. I expected some discussion regarding my question "what's the best tire for Wisco dual sporting."

The immediate consensus from all involved was Trakmaster II. That's good, and a lot cheaper, to know.

I look forward to more MnG's. Thanks Zora for getting this going.

I am surprised... The Motorcycle Superstore price for that tire is $74.88 (in KLR rear size), which is about what I pay for a D606 on sale. Maybe there is a good sale price on the Kenda which makes it worth it compared to the D606?

Next?

Sounds like Heather's was a good time!

What, Where When is the next meetup? I beleive there was some discussion about having another get together on the west side.

I swear I got my TrakMaster IIs from my local dealership for like $65-ish That was last fall though so I can't be sure.

I'm up for the next m&g if I can make it work with my schedule.

The Trackmaster is a much better off road tire. Madison Motosports is the place
to go for great deals on tires and lots of other stuff too.

Ehhh.... I would rather run a 606 on a heavy bike like a KLR.

The super soft knobs on the trakmaster can lead to some...Interesting handling characteristics around paved corners on big bikes.

That said, I usually just buy whatever is cheapest.

Feel free to arrange something whatever/whenever you want!

I was thinking we could have one north of Madison, (just cuz we did west and east now) maybe Windsor, Waunakee or Sun Prairie area.... anyone interested in that? Any restaurant recommendations? Preferably with outdoor seating.

Tuesday the 12th?

I am open excepting Mondays, the 4th of July weekend, 7/5, 7/8, and 7/12.

I am partial to locations 20-30 miles west of Madison, but I'll drive all the way to Madison if necessary- I do not want to miss out on all the fun again!

Tom

Does Prairie du Sac count as north? :-)

I have an obligation on the 12th.

Rewey Fireworks M&G?

As I was reviewing my calendar I was reminded that the usually incredible Rockin' Rewey Fireworks display is on July 16th:
http://www.kfireworks.com/rockin_rewey_fireworks.html

Anyone interested in meeting in Rewey? It is about 65mi from the south side of Madison.

I can offer free indoor camping accommodations about 30 miles north of Rewey, which might be nice if you are coming from a distance.

And maybe a nice local dual-sport tour after breakfast on Sunday morning?

Being from Sun Prairie, you'd think I could come up with a place. But honestly, there's not a lot going on here restaurant/bar-wise, especially with outdoor seating.

The Harmony Bar on the east side of Madison has lots of space, but no outdoor seating that I know of. Good food there, too.
