I could reasonably drive to any of those, and if the high-speed-rail dream ever comes to fruition, make it to Chi and StL in a heartbeat.

Mine is pretty simple, move the Islanders up to Québec and bump the Sabers to the Atlantic division. Ideally the Whalers would come back but unless there is some sudden love for Hockey in CT I don't see that happening.

I was just there, they are all pissed off because they wanted the AHL team from Winnipeg (Moose?) that went to the maritimes. I don't think they could support an NHL team but they'd do great with an AHL franchise.

Give them Carolina....which leaves us 1 Florida team (no way in hell they need 2, but they do have a ton of northern transplants so 1 could survive), Nashville, Phoenix, and Dallas to move.

Saskatoon has the same population as Buffalo, NY, but without the greater Toronto area half an hour away. It'd never work.

Buffalo is in the same division as the Leafs, Habs, and Sens. A lot of Canadians follow their team to Buffalo for away games. Easier to get tickets, and cheaper. There are Leaf and Hab fans all over Canada.

Pretty hard to just run over to Saskabush from Calgary (7hrs) or Edmonton (5hrs) on a Tues night for a divisional game.
