Wonderful thread! I started following you because I was curious about the Tiger, bought one, now I follow because I love the scenery! Great work man, a true inspiration!

You asked about photo editing software... a good topic for its own thread! I use Photoshop, and Lightroom (mostly Lightroom). I would suggest Lightroom if you are really into it, if your not, Photoshop Elements is good and reasonably priced.

Keep up the good work!

Holy crap!!! I was all the way back on page five!!!

Hobbes has been at the Vet. He sounded terrible when I started him up after installing my heated grips. Something internal. Sounded like a valve noise at first, but then almost like a chunk of metal in the cylinder bouncing around. Stealership pulled the throttle bodies and valve cover off. Everything looked normal. They pulled the motor and are going deeper. They did agree that something major was wrong when we started it. Only took ten seconds and that was enough.

I'm pretty pissed.
1. My bike is broke and I missed the last few weekends of riding in the mountains. On the cycle that is....
2. I had to "AUTHORIZE" $600 of troubleshooting! This is a six month old bike with 8500 miles!! This damn well better be covered under warranty. What could I have possible done? Oh yeah, they gave me shit about not bringing it in for the 300 and 6000 mile services. "That might not be good, " the service manager said. I almost went over the counter and punched him the mouth. I can change my own oil, thanks.
3. It's been there for two weeks with out a single phone call to update me. Don't you think I am curious how my $12000 motorcycle is doing with the engine torn out?!?!?!?!? They told me another job mushroomed into something huge and my bike got pushed back on the schedule. DON'T YOU THINK I'D LIKE TO KNOW THAT YOU BUNCH OF ASSHOLES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I guess we should have called you." YOU FUCKING THINK SO?!?!? Didn't even get a sorry and still don't have a resolution or cause. They were supposed to call me today. Think I got a call? Take a wild fucking guess.

Too bad Sisneros Speed Works in your neck of the woods doesn't work on Triumphs (I think?)..... he'd probably already have you back on the road..... or at least in the loop.

When I grow up

I would love to make even a couple of the rides you've been on this year. The photography and stories are outstanding. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. It is truly appreciated! Its because of people such as yourself I recently purchase an appropriate bike. The manufactures should be giving you a second bike for all the good press.

I rode to Broomfield this summer for work, but we had an issue so I didn't get a chance to ride for pleasure.... Plan on being up there a couple times summer of 2012, so I hope you don't mind if I retrace a couple of the routes you mention (Not Red Cone!)?

In a couple of you posts you had a couple photography questions. It been a hobby of mine for many years....

Application to use? Depends on how much you want to spend. GIMP is free, but if you don't mind spending a little, Lightroom is great. It runs about $300 if you buy it without discounts. But the student version typically runs in the $90 range. So if you know someone taking classes at the local college, have them buy it for you! It does more than just allow you to process your photo's, it also acts a a catalog. You can use keywords, dates trips etc to keep track of all your photo's. I have about 20K pics on my PC, and I can find any picture from any trip or location. It's also nondestructive, so you can create a black and white copy of a pic, but always go back to color if you don't like it. PM me with a question and I'll tell you what I know.

In one post you commented on your pic's not being very sharp ie:Soft images: I think you commented that you were using a point and shoot type of camera. You should have a "sport" mode, most consumer camera do. When your riding, try putting your camera in this mode and it will use a faster shutter. This will help minimize the movement from you and from the things your trying to shoot. When you stop, you'll need to remember to put it back into the normal mode you usually like to use. There are a couple other things that can help, but all I have to go off of is the shot's when you made the comment.

Great! Thanks for reading and thanks for the compliments. My brother's g/f is in photo school, so I may just hit her up for that software.

Hobbes is fixed. Supposedly. I'll get the details when I get back to Colorado and pick him up. Had to get back to Idaho for a week. Hopefully good to go. Snow season in the high country now, so don't expect anymore spectaculr rides from me for a few months. I may post some stories about my snowmobile adventures in the meantime. I may get yelled at by the mods cause it's not a "motorcycle", but until then, look for a few words and pics from the snowy high country. I'll fill ya in on Hobbes when I pick him up next weekend. Hope y'all are well!
