We opted to go to our cottage instead of straight home and spend a couple of days there before heading home to catch Bill and Jeannie on their trip thru.
The camp

We went out kayaking for the morning in the boats I built a coupla years ago

drank a little

ate a little

and watched Mother Nature's show......

When we got home from camp, Bill and Jeannie were on their way. They spent a wonderful night and I saw them off to the Digby Ferry in the morning. Not exactly the vacation gone to plan, but very enjoyable none the less.......

Roxbury Road, Birch Hill Lake day trip

Lots has happened since I last posted to this thread. I've lost my best friend Shirley in a tragic senseless crash, sent my daughter off to University, and found love again...one thing constant though, has been the joy of riding around in the woods, exploring new roads. I'd been to the Camp working and when I got home around noon, decided to go for a short ride to check out some trails I had filed in the noggin for future exploration. The first stop was Roxbury Road to bypass a rock barricade and see where the road went

leaving home

The start of Roxbury Road
The rock pile was bypassed, but the road simply went into a gravel pit after about 300 meters, bummer. I went back down the hill and followed an ATV trail along the Hydro towers, this was followed until a water crossing.

I didn't cross the water, as the trail turned into a mud bog quickly after the stream. After admiring the stream for a few minutes I headed up to check a new logging road that could be followed to a Hydro water holding flowage.

Dalhousie Lake Dam

Birch Hill Lake control building.

About this time the rain decided to start and I headed for home. I covered about 70 km in the woods, the route is shown below.

I really enjoy your reports

And you are quite fortunate to have a spouse you can ride with. On dirt bikes! Where I live people think I'm nuts for riding dirt.

Don't feel bad, sometimes these things happen. Unless you followed all my posts, you wouldn't know. Cheers-Fred

It's because I was at the lake, dillhole. once you go down the bedrock ledge to the lake, nobody has cell service...I maintain that it's full of uranium, and that's why there's 14" white perch in that lake.

Excavator is down there, putting our road in finally. Going to put the trailer down there for this year, and then build a camp next year.

Hey craig, how's the weight bearing going? How's it going to be around July 8th? Wanna help me drink like i'm turning 30?

BTW, got all the parts I was waiting for.
Extended fuel screw = awesome.
petcock rebuild kit = awesome not to have fuel leaking on your foot.
Mefo Explorers = awesome so far. had them on freshly graded road in North Queens, and felt pretty sure footed. Should have ordered 130/90 and 100/90instead of 130/80 and 90/90- they're small.
Trailtech headlight = awesome to be able to see with HID

oh, and I also did the cam chain exhaust timing one tooth mod (there should be a name for this mod), and it's like night and day the amount of power on tap. You should try it.

Wanna go for a ride on Sunday? Warden has to work, so I'm busting out.
