Closing
One more post on the ride. After 12 days I'd really had a time, some good, some challenging. More challenging by far than I thought due to weather. I met some extraordinary people who helped me with decisions and keeping my mind in the right place.
The ferry ride back was very nice, I sat and watched a setting sun make a very cool light show on the Atlantic between rain squalls with the NFLD coast line in the far distance. I had some mussels in Baddeck, they were fair, not great so I was determined to ride over to PEI and get the real thing. ![]() Not this... lol ![]() Apparently this is still not in season for tourists and restaurants, June 30? Anyway mussels are in season and I found a dive that had fresh mussels and they steamed em up. At last!!!! Excellent mussels! ![]() I camped in New Brunswick near Fundy. Was a pretty large spider in the cabin when the guy showed it too me; KILL IT KILL IT he yelled. Was kind of funny. ![]() Headed out the next morning and crossed back into the USA. Stopped in Augusta Maine to have lunch and I saw this: ![]() No frackin way! (again) I'd been watching the tire closely and thought I'd get the extra 650 miles back home, nope. After a few phone calls nothing. But a guy parked next to me with a Harley sticker on his F150 was a great help. He thought and gave me names of motoshops and left. 10 minutes later he came back and said, there's a small shop right across the street! Johnnys. ![]() Got a new rear in only a couple hours. Excellent. That Tourance was totally spend with 13k on it. After that I rode home to Virginia via Hartford/Harrisburg. Great ride. 4,956 miles. . donnymoto screwed with this post 07-16-2011 at 05:47 PM |

Another islander here, I live an hour from Gros Morne and have rarely seen shots as impressive as yours.
Well done sir, someone from tourism should give you a gig! If you ever return look me up and I'll take you on an off road trail that comes through North Arm and behind the Table Lands, spectacular view from above Woody Point.

Thanks there Cleanair
fmunson; wow you live in an amazing place. I'm definitely up for a ride up the back of Table Lands. I'll keep this in mind since I'm planning to run the TLH next year, or maybe the year after. That'll put me right back in Gros Morne. ![]() . |

Excellent shots!
The shot of the Gannets is just amazing! And the shots from Gros Morne are fantastic too!
It's always a pleasure to have people in here with such a sense of photography. Subscribed.
