2003 GS Sport, 34,000 miles. Nothing major, just adjust the valves and change fluids. I put a new belt on this last fall. I change tires alot. What's up with that? I'm on my fourth set of tires already. I suppose I should by two sets when I change them again in July.

2004 Gs

8 months old and 7000 miles. The only problem has been the lack of riding time..

02 Adventure - bought in 2/04 with less than 11,000 miles. As of today I'm a stone's throw from 30,000 miles. Knock on wood - this bike is a dream - no problems.

That's kind of my point. You couldn't put 212,000 on a car and get away with just those replacement parts. Certain things are going to wear out.

I guess I will change my alternator belt when I do the fuel filter just to be safe.

'05 R1200GS purchased Aug 28, 2004: 12,000 miles yesterday at 12noon.... bad clutch engagement at 6k miles ate clutch plates... limped it 500 miles back to my dealer and it was fixed under warranty. Looked like a unicycle all torn down.

Mine's an '00 1150GS, which I bought used in '02 with 11,800 miles on the odometer. It now has nearly 46,000 miles on it, with only minor glitches to report. Last year the left turn signal button stopped working. With a bit of minor surgery I was able to replace the failed switch with one from a donor bike. Several weeks ago the horn button stopped functioning. I use the horn so rarely that I haven't bothered to investigate, but I suspect its either another faulty switch or a corroded wire. All in all, I'm very pleased with the bike.

24,400 km since July '04 on '04 12GS. I've just figured out roughly what trips I'll be doing this year and I expect my mileage to be 30,000 by end of May, 53,000 by end of August, and 63,000 by seasons end. I'll add reports as those milestones occur.

Very COOL!!! 96 also here... BMW changed Tranny and final drive at N/C, as it was before the changes on the 96, at 40K... 2 head gaskets so far... one L throttle body (changed both), regular maintenance... Laser exhaust and chip with the removal of the Fuel mixture module, O2 sensor, cat, black box... has made this bike ride better than new... and with nice and tanned plugs at every change!!!

Oh! 130K on the speedo...

Let me know if ever in this area... would love to see your bike...
Be well...
