Ordered 36mm from Grainger, gotta have it...

Need to machine chain side spacer. I have the bearing and seal. Going to do rear wheel, raising links and sprocket this weekend.

Also thinking of machining 30mm risers for the bars. Ben wanting to do that for a while. I'll let you know rough stock OD, maybe the shim stock will work?

That or I can pony up and buy my own stock

If I were to do anything different with the stock setup, it would be to pay to get all of those spacers hard anodized. It's slippery, and should let the bearing and seal last the life of the bike. I noticed, the stepped one on my rear was hard coated, but the rest were plain jane. hmm... how much harder would it have been. Really. If mine ever wear out, That's my plan. Seems silly after looking at yours. Even in my new ones, three out of 4 didn't have a good fit with the seal and fell out when the wheel came off. Guess which one didn't. The hard coat one. Maybe a group buy to pay for a lot charge if anyone else was in the same boat. Just a thought

Is it just me, or is there anyone else that would friggin love to get stiffer kick stand springs. Sounds like someone's taking a jack hammer to the frame on the rough stuff. Anyone have a fix for it?

Adjust your rear shock, it is too soft. Try a couple clicks and ride it

Not just you... In one of the reviews I read before buying my XC the writer has the kickstand actually deploy after hitting a big whoop. He gave it a zero out of ten in off road performance for trying to kill him.

I would also LOVE stiffer center stand springs, or better bumpers. The bike sounds like it's rattling apart on washboard roads.

3) Shit. Looks like there's a monogrammed Vespa out there, waiting....

That I will do... Thanks. Was wondering how I'd know when to crank it up.

I get the same issue with the rear shock no matter where it's set. I also carry a spare spring as it's come off a few times. I crimped the ends on the new one and it's stayed on so far.

I hear ya, my first tiger it drove me nuts so I designed this..

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=838636

Then on my second Tiger I was packing for a 2-up trip and read the manual on rear shock settings to be safe. I have left the "Offroad" setting in place ever since.

It still makes noise but not nearly as much as it came from the dealer "Solo" setting.

Center stand noises when riding offroad-

The centerstand springs are pretty hefty on the 800xc. The issue is that the factory centerstand is heavy. My solution is to use a ziptie on the left side to secure the centerstand when I am going in the dirt.

Not a perfect solution. But it works OK, and only takes a few seconds to cut it off if I need to put the bike up on the centerstand. No problems to date with the factory sidestand.

Does anyone have that problem with aftermarket center stands also or is it just the OEM center stand?

Any stand is going to rattle on rough surfaces, unless maybe it's just a Triumph feature, the center stand on my Scrambler rattled like an old 1930s pickup truck on rough roads.

H&B center stand rattles tremendously on gravel road washboards. I come from a dirt bike background, so measure my response accordingly. The tiger is my first road bike.

OK yeah I kinda figured that would be the answer. I don't have a center stand on my baby yet but I was just wondering if maybe I should look into different stands. Any preferences over the HnB over the OEM?
