An Italian Octopus Riding Across America (Twvt & Tat)

Hi everybody, my name is Massimo, Polpo in ADV, Polpo means Octopus in italian, I'm a dual sport rider in Italy and next saturday, july 16th, I'm gonna leave from Lewes Beach DE to reach Jellico TN and then Port Orford OR. Hope so...
My motorcycle is a Honda XR 650 L, I've bought it last october from Yahbo.
Lee P., (Dualsport Armory) took care of the 650 along the winter season.
Many friends here in ADV helped me in different ways gaving me advices and various help.
I thank Sam Correro for his help and for all the maps and the rollchart he made, heavy job.
So after a year of planning (in Italy) now I'm in Middelburg Virginia, waiting.
Waiting for the launch day.
Waiting and getting a little nervous.
Waiting and preparing the bike.
Waiting and preparing my self to the biggest, the longest and toughest trip in off-road I ever made in my entire life. I'm I 48.
Many friends asked to me if I'm ready. Obviuosly not.

So the first wrinkle is that my italian iphone with a AT&T micro sim inside doesen't get in internet, they don't know why and they sent me to the Apple store in Farfaix. Tomorrow I'll go.

Anyway, I've read tons of TAT RR, I've enjioed thousend photos. I'm not that good in internet stuff and unfortunately my english in too simple to let you guys enjoy the RR. I'll do my best on writing a report.
I'll write better in italian and everyday I'll try to write something in my blog. There is also a Google translator in it.

Message for Intothenew, get ready because in 3-4 days after the launch I'll be at your place to cook an Hillbilly Italian dinner.

So guys, looks incredible but after a year of work, planning (almost) everything, is my turn to go.
Hope everything is going to be good.
6 days to go.

Thanks.

Ciao.

Polpo.

hey Polpo I remember your posts from last year, glad you made it to the US Some nice leisurely gravel roads to ride out there in the Middleburg horse country. Why is your start point Lewes, DE?
