I'll start from Lewes Beach just because if you track a line from DC to the ocean, the nearest place is that beach.
I have to leave from the water and try to touch the water in the other ocean. Hope so...
They told me it could be crowded of people. i'll let you know.
Ciao.

Polpo.

Hi everybody, I'm in Savannah TN today, because I need to change my tires that are worn.
For now everything is going good, got some shower, got some hot but I know the real hot has to come in the next days.
The TWVT and the TAT are gerat, and this experience is gonna be one of the best in my life.
Yesterday I found the famous TN creek crossings, at the first the bike went down while I was walking beside her. I've had hard time to get out of the 2 inches of water. Was really sleepery! At the second I put down on the bottom of the creek some gravel for my boots and for the bke tires, was bettere and we made it!
I've hit a rattle snake but it was already dead, so it doesn't worth.
Tomorrow I'll get in Mississippi.
No photos, I'm not good on this things with computer, in my blog you can find some of them. I'm using just the iphone.Sorry about that.
Ciao.
Polpo.

Did he have the dreaded stripped teeth on the counter shaft or was he just having problems with the sprocket?

Dreaming of my TWVT and TAT 2011

...about my trip across USA.
Some times, when I close my eyes, my mind starts to fly because of a strong desire to escape again, when the nostalgia becomes irresistible, it grows like whipped cream and becomes in a deep wish to come back to USA and ride again that great trip, I imagine how I was in those days, how I felt in those days and like in a movie I see my self. I see both of us, the bike and me from the sky, while at regular speed we travel along dusty, solitary and straight roads in Oklahoma, leaving a wall of dust behind us fliyng light for minutes in that hot air. Around us, the bike and me, I can see the high pastures green and yellow, black cows as far as the eye can see and the more you fly high to the big blue sky the more the sight goes far away. If you see westboud you can see the first New Mexico hills. Then, watching with your heart you can see the Continental Divide, The Rockies, the most high passes I ever did, Colorado, then Utah with its red rocks and sands, the Black Dragon Canyon that was the toughest spot of my personal TAT, Nevada with its sandy endlessly trails and its wild horses. And if you go upper and upper you will see the huge forests and the Pacific Ocean, Oregon.

What a days those days.

I'd like to thank again all you guys that helped me. Thank you! Next time, I don't know when, I'll do again the TWVT and the TAT, once at the Pacific Ocean we'll take left and we'll go, the bike and me, to Ushuaya, then we'll make a left again and we'll keep traveling northbound.

Ciao.

Massimo, the italian octopus (Polpo).

P.S. Sorry for my rough english.

Polpo, if you still have your XR650L here I'd gladly take you on a little ride...

Up the Pacific Crest Quest to Washington state, over on my Northern Route to Montana, then back down the Continental Divide Ride.

Should only take 3-4 weeks.

If you want to go longer, we could ride Sam's Shadow of the Rockies back north... that's another week.

Got more stuff after that if you want....
