So Monday I head west, I'm going to travel the North Cascades Hwy a road I've never been on before.

I'm not really feeling the whole photo thing so I just keep racking up the miles, I did stop once though.

I find a camp site not long before sun set, I setup my tent and I went for a walk.

I looked at the map and made a plan for the morning, it was going to be a long day so I figured I should hit it early.

On the Road at 6:09 AM

So that tripod finally pays off

Deception Pass Bridge

View of a ferry from the ferry

Well that is it, the numbers from the trip

Don't mind the rubber bands my ram mount broke after 5 years of very hard service.

You just couldn't keep away from that place, couldja?

Yep, after the Hells Canyon/Wallowa gathering, all I wanna do is go back, too.
I want MORE.

Very true Mr. Loud. I've taken some really nice shots with my old beat up Fuji S5000 that shoots at 3100 mp. Creativity is underated. A creative photographer can do a lot with very little. Still one can do so much more with an SLR.

Keep up the good work.

WOW Al you have provided me with a year supply of Desktop material, or screen saver. I know you want everyone to know who did the shots, justifiably, but the signature could be a tad bit more transparent (watermark).

Really great work Al.

That's the one that caught my eye.
Good light and layering of colors/textures (furrows in the field, sprinklers, foothills etc.), nice leading line in the fence

I have several cameras from SLR to mega pix point and shoots, but we still have a S5000 we keep using. You can't beat the telephoto lens on that Fuji as a point and shoot camera!

Allan:

What camera are you using? I find it tough to carry a DSLR on my bike. Not because of space but because I drop my bike, in some pretty wet places some times, and I haven't wanted to risk my Nikon. I have been thinking ab out a point/shoot and have been reading Ken Rockwell for a long time because I really respect his opinion about equipment. I was just wondering, also, because I couldn't see the meta-data on your images so I thought I'd ask...

I was shooting a Nikon D90 with a 50 1.8d and a Sigma 10-20, I was also shooting with a Cannon S90 which I like quite a bit. I carry my D90 in my Fandango tank bag which I have found to be completely waterproof.

If you want the exif data on any of my shots you can go directly to my smugmug and see the exif on all of the shots.

It's a tank...I've beat it to death in tankbags and saddlebags and it just keeps delivering.

Sorry for the sidenote Al.

Carry on.
