2 weeks for the TAT....need advice.
If a person had 2 weeks to do the TAT and wanted to finish in Oregon, where would the logical starting point be? I have tried to back track the days/miles in my head, but reckon some of you experienced TAT riders would know exactly where I should start.

Figure two days per state aside from CA and NM...YMMV.
 I'd start on the east side of Colorado and burn a few days in Moab, that will leave a margin for problems which is needed. |

Black mesa (west end of Ok ) to LaVeta Co. 1 day ,easy.----------- Laveta to Salida 1 easy day.----------- Salida to Lake City, 1 easy day-----Lake city to Moab 1 day.--------- Moab to Salina, 1 day. ----------Salina to Baker , 1 day.--------- Baker to Eureka 1 day. -----Eureka to McDermitt 1 day , LOONG day because we got lost, had bike trouble and I hit a barbed wire gate at 40 mph. ------McDermitt to Denio, 1/2 day. --------Denio to lakeview oregon 1 day------Lakeview to Crater Lake and around Crater lake 1 day.---------Crater lake to the coast 1 day.
3 of us are experienced dirt riders. We kept a good pace but never really pushed too hard. Started around 8 or 9 am , usually quit by 5 or so. rufus screwed with this post 07-13-2011 at 07:40 PM |
