Strange that you and Doug both broke the Sporty kickstands.

I'm glad you got into Canada. I have heard of them not allowing people with ancient DUI's in.

Keep up the good report!

Where exactly is he?

Edit: he is just outside of or in the town of Watson Lake. A safe check in then repeated distress signals over the course of a few hours, all from the same location and in the middle of the night.....

Doesn't a help request send in help?

What makes someone check in safe and then later from the same location srtat sending help signals? Sleeping on it and accidentally hitting the buttons, bears, hmmm...can't be mechanical as he is in or right beside a town.

I'm new to the spot thing so sorry for talking out loud, hope your alright. SWEET bike

A quick look see on the wikipedia page for SPOT yields: "The device will repeat transmission of its emergency messages at predefined interval until the user cancels the emergency, turns off the device, or until the batteries run out".

Which explains the repeated messages...

I called the campground where the spot is coming from and the guy said there were some folks changing tires there this morning that needed air but he did not know of anyone needing assistance.

Hopefully the spot is just acting up or left at the campsite. John if you have moved on and the spot was left behind the number to the campground is 867-536-7448 in case you check in here and do not have the number.

I had a good visit with John SENIOR tonight here in Boise. I guess he threw his Spot in the same boot as his GPS and they started fighting...It's my understanding the Spot lost the battle. So the moral of the story: Don't put your Spot and your GPS in the same boot?!
