Thanks for the report and nice pics .

I am just starting to plan a Nova Scotia trip but just have one question: I know the scenery is beautiful, but how are the roads? Meaning, is it all pretty flat and straight? I heard great things about Cape Breton but what about the rest of NS? Are there twisties?

Hey Devo look forward to seeing you in NS. The only real straight roads are the newer "100" series since they were put in as highways for fast travel. Most of the other roads have many turns and corners since they just paved over where the old roads were from many years ago. I am not sure whether you could consider them "twisty" but they aren't straight.
The best rides in NS are along the coast via the back roads and dirt roads of which there are many.

For more info check out fredgreen, yellowknife and or myself for route info. We will try and help.

Thanks, I appreciate it, I'm officially coming now :)

Last question, I don't want to hijack the thread: Best time to visit for foliage. Early, middle or late September? (I assume Sep)

Leaves

Probably later in Sept, last 2 weeks or so..I rode around here mid Sept last year and the leaves hadn't turned yet. But it depends on the weather too of course.

Added pics

I also wanted to add the beach pictures, where you come out of the Eatonville Rd. It sure looks like it would be nice on a nice sunny day. Really reddish brown earth on the banks here as well.

Nice report. I can't believe it's been 4 years since I was up there already. I want to go again.

N.S. and Rain

This was the route?

http://tinyurl.com/3ru6aoy

Fog and Rain is very much a part of visiting N.S. most of the time.

The last two weeks of August give the best odds for a visit.

Thanks for the report and the pics.
Got to see some places I never did see on account of rain.

Route

Yes that's the way I went. Then the next say back from Canso to Digby all in one run because of rain. But I could still tell that the small places were nice and would have been great on a nice warm sunny day.
Yes come on back we would love to see you!!
