Route to Mar del Plata is 562km...
Scrutineering in a dozen plus a few hours...

Looks like the real first stage of the rally is ON!

Those guys are going to be flying through this first roadbook liason!

I know Ned said he was successful in getting the ASO to give him a later scrutineering time but as far as I know, he didn't ay what time that was. He was originally scheduled for 11am local time on the 29th so hopefully he may have at least a little breathing room but crikey, talk about in the nick of time.

But at least they will be waiting in line

It's often said that simply getting to the start line is the toughest part of the Dakar - and it seems that it is still the case

Ned. I have been sitting in the background here reading about all the preparations for your adventure and the latest troubles with shipping. Thanks for taking us along for the ride and best wishes for the race

Been sitting here all night at work pressing F5 and hoping to see an update that they are in Mar del Plata with all gear...

anyone heard from them since they got on the road??

Dying to know that all gear arrived intact and things are progressing in a positive way..

Meanwhile, back to Crazy Girlfriend Stories. Crazy Ex-Wife Stories, too.
