Washington State and our last full day...awww

We woke and broke camp. Having had our fill of quick camp breakfasts we had a coffee and headed out. First stop; Twisp. (sounds like a kid's cereal) where we found a quaint little cafe' with decent coffee and HUGE pastries.

Then off we headed to the amazing scenic route known as WA Rt 20.

There was a touch of road construction, but nothing significant.

A little way up the road we came across some snow and, being the mental 12 year olds that we are, pulled over to have a bit of fun.

Ben reminded me of Sasquatch

It was pretty cool...and deep

But enough snow, time to press on...

The view at Ross Lake was stunning...

The ADV version of a devil on your shoulder.

Apparently, Jack Kerouac used to be a fire spotter near here.

After leaving Rt 20 we encountered more construction

But, being the ever polite Canadian, Jeff lent a hand, though I don't think the flagger truly trusted him.

And off we went chasing the pilot truck

And ANOTHER stop...but this one was for an accident.

Our last night's camp

With some BIG old stumps

Personally, I think Jeff should have chosen a longer stick. (BTW, that's a vegetarian chipotle sausage)

Aww, we didn't "trespass"....we borrowed a spit of land and left it clean and neat. It was more of a necessity than a choice.

We arrive back in Vancouver WA

We awoke from a good night's sleep to a lichen covered forest.

Stopped by one of the only touristy things in this neck of the woods

Got some breakfast...

...and some gas

Those clouds don't look good...

...and they weren't nice to us. TORRENTIAL downpour. A camera can't really capture it.

And after ten great days, completed our 2,150 mile loop of the northwest
