Yes, we are doing it again, but with changes!!!! All information subject to change without notice!!!

RALLY FEE: We have decided to have MANDATORY SIGN-UP and PREPAY same as other ADV rallies. This PREPAID FEE of $40 ($42 if by PayPal, so they get their share) entitles you to:

  • One Rally T-shirt and Rally Sticker (don't forget to include shirt size when registering)
  • Tent Space for Friday night and Saturday night
  • Your turn in the porta-john
HOW TO REGISTER: TO LATE, so sorry... Registration has closed. See ya next year!!!

DATE: The 2011 (don't) FALL RALLY will be held from Friday, October 21 through Sunday October 23. Rally site is scheduled to open at NOON on Friday. Being that this is private land, we do not have a way to handle earlier arrivals. If you wish to arrive early, please check into Hommochitto NF, Rocky Springs, or other campgrounds in the vicinity.

LOCATION:
The rally is moving to private land!!! No more Ranger pRick!!!
The 3rd Annual dFR will be held at Rigby Farms, approximately 10 miles southwest of Utica, MS. THIS IS PRIVATE LAND GENEROUSLY OFFERED BY MR. RIGBY. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL. He and his family live on this land. Please only go in authorized areas. We would like to be invited back!! There will be signs guiding you to the rally site where you can get more information when you check in.
Link to a Google Map of the Location

CAMPING: Primitive camp sites are available. No motels, hotels, or Bed & Breakfast facilities are anywhere close by! There is running water (one faucet) and electricity available (a few 110v outlets, no camper hookups). NO SHOWERS!!! Just a creek full of what will probably be refreshingly cold water by then!!!

GAS and STORE: It is approximately 10 miles to Utica, MS. Utica has gas, Dollar General Store, etc. We will be scouting out the area as we can and posting updated info on gas and stores.

Ride thread

There are no official rides for the (don't) FALL RALLY.
We have individuals who go on rides and welcome you to ride along.
No part of your attendance fee has anything to do with any rides.
All riders are responsible for their own actions.
Above all, ride safe.

Riders:
1. Please show up to your ride with a full gastank.
2. Please show up to your ride at least ten minutes before departure time.
3. Please do not post descriptions of other people's rides.
Instead, all ride questions should be referred back to page one for the list of ride links.

ALL INFO SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE!

SOME UPDATED RIDE INFO:

1) Rigby Ride: Our gracious host, Mr. Bob Rigby has agreed to go for a ride and let others tag along. He reports that it is about 220 miles total with about 70 miles of it "good gravel roads" and the rest is "curvy pavement". Leaving from site around 9AM on Saturday, 100 miles until lunch and gas in Port Gibson and then about 120 miles back to camp.

2) Backwoods Ride: I have come up with a route I want to ride to hopefully help break up the group a bit to keep size manageable. My route starts at the camp and winds through curvy pavement and gravel roads. There are a few low water bridges and possibly a sandy hill or two on the ends of these bridges to traverse. I will be on a KLR to lead this ride. Highlights will include stops at several local historical locations and scenic spots, including: Rodney, lunch at the Lorman Old Country Store, Ruins of Windsor, Shaifer House, Port Gibson, Grand Gulf Civil War sites, Rocky Springs Church, and more. We need to head out early to get the miles in before lunch. So leaving at 8 or 8:30... Approximately 220 miles total. At times we may move quite swiftly so we have time to stop and take pictures, etc. at stops. If you are interested, find me in camp Friday night for more details!!!

Anyone else interested in leading a ride?

I thought "(don't)" was just a suggestion? If not, I'm out.

There might be someone from down your way trailering up here. Maybe you could hitch a ride? As far as camping gear, all you really need is a hammock and a tarp!
