If I remember right, my bike's speedo is about 6-7mph high at those speeds. Figure the 50T might be another 200-300 higher? We'll see.

I could see the 50T being a bit too much for many but man, the 14/47 I'm running now is great. I'll gladly trade the higher cruise rpm for the peppier feel on road and off road it really shines. Like I said, fuel consumption is still averaging in the low to mid 40s and yea, it's reving higher than stock but it isn't bad at all.
Okay, that's not too different than stock. IIRC from this morning's commute, I'm at about 5800rpm at 75mph. Down one gear and it's up to about 6200rpm. So it's like loosing half a gear. If it is anything like putting the 14T front on the DR650 it's be well worth it. Made that bike into a whole new beast.

They are good to deal with and usually very fast turn around. Of course, this one is aluminum.

Want steel, no a lu mi ni um.

If I end up not liking the ebay specials, there is always the titamium sprocket guy. They are spendy too but I think he gives a lifetime warranty on his if you buy the set I think.

I messed up a smidge on the revs at 85,,,, closer to 7K. And like I said, remember I said my bike's speedo is off a good 6-8mph at that speed. If you want I'll try to remember to check it with the gps the next time I have it on there. It is a good bit higher than factory but like I said I'll gladly trade the higer revs for more spunk and better off road performance. Most folks rarely get their DL off road, hell,,,,, I think I have more dirt road mileage and creek crossing on my FJR than ten of most DL owners have combined! I like taking my wee off-road. I wanna see a photo of yours. I mainly ride sport touring but my wee is also my dirty bike.

I need a new chain and sprocket. I'm leaning toward sticking with stock gearing but the 14T idea fascinates me...

You don't wanna see my DL650,,,,,, so ugly it'll hurt yer eyes!

Please try the 14/47 combo, really wakes up the DL650. Worse case, you'll hate it and if that's the case, what's a front sprocket???? Something like 15-20$?????

And BTW, that cheap E Bay 50T sprocket is doing fine with the 14T front. Have no idea the miles on it now but I'm guessing around 5K????
