PHX,AZ Grand Fall ride

Me on DRZ-400, 2Spot on ATK605 we took off from z gas station in Happy Jack, where i had an embarassing 2 seconds moment , i dropped my bike on its side soon as i pulled to z pump. Z weather was awsome so we took advantage to put 172 milesof off-rd (not counting pavments). We started on a norrow rough trail for about 5 miles and got connected to 211 going toward Long Lake destination.
2Spot.

2Spot celebrating z finish of first stage without issues.

On z way up to z Falls it wasn't that challenginging except of couple of rocky section.

Crossing a second Canyon.

So many gates to cross.

I have lots of video of z rough stuff from z way back (still downloading)...
More coming up...

It was a nice trail from FS126 to Buffalo Range rd. Lots of rocks.

Endless & open trails with diverse terrains but mostly rocks.

Lunch by z Meteor Crator.

From there to Diablo Canyon then to our destination.

Crossing under z rail-road.

Inside Diablo Canyon that area geologicaly is infested by molten lava flow from millions years ago so as z area around z Grande Falls.

That is z Little Colorado river (Grande Fall) & it's dry at this time of year.

U can see z remains of z lava flow on top compare to z color of rocks underneath.

From another angle.

From another angle + bike effect...

A shady spot for 2Spot & me / Picnic-time.

More coming up...

in this shot you can see how the lava flow plugged the canyon forcing the river to divert.

and a pretty good shot of the falls, unfortunately not flowing at all.

I thought you needed some sort of hall pass to travel through there?

He run out of gas 7 miles before we got to my truck/trailer in Camp Verde. But him being a wise rider he anticipated this occurance, he always pack a xtra 800ml of gas in stainless bottle. I told him he could always sife some gas from my 4.5g tank.
Here's a vid. from our ride in around Happy Jack Area.

BTW, I just looked on a map and see that the falls are not far from Sunset Crater. I'd assume the volcanic activity at the falls was probably from the same time as Sunset Crater. And Google Maps shows a way to get from the crater to the falls. That could be a good ride. Get your national park pass ready.
