Didn't know about the Central States tag. The funny part is that the current tag is two blocks from where I work. I'll work on moving this tag along tomorrow.

Thanks,

Jason

I hear that. It stalled in KY for a month before I heard about it. Moved it west last Sunday.

They were once 100 yds apart at two historic structures on Kaskaskia Island.

And not grabbed by the same person.

As the "hint" said, in Washington MO. By the waterfront park...with beautiful river views and plenty of shaded seating...

New Tag... get ready for someplace creepy....

So, first a tease. The "money shot" for this tag is meh... so don't go get the tag and bolt the location. The "tag" or money shot is the last picture. A good photographer might have fun there, a person of weak intestinal fortitude, alone on the grounds near sunset, might bring diapers....You must get out and walk around. Plenty of hints embedded in the photos and commentary.

So I started out heading for a favorite ADV set of roads you FFs.. yes, FF to F, etc. I have seen this "Black Madonna" sign several times but never looked. Today I thought a turn here and I would have my tag.

But, the entrance has a sign saying "No Motorcycles" (thanks loud pipes guys!), so I decided to go up the road a spell further and found a sign indicating that there was something at the end of the road. The main building appears to be closed, though the grounds are maintained...

The old main entrance...

I'm new to MO, this surprised me, but maybe you natives are used to seeing these growing wild on the ground ... there were a number of them..
]

And the view from inside the asylum gates....ahem.... infirmary gates...

inmate view of gate
Right after you park your bike, you will be drawn to what is the background of the tag shot: Cool, holy, but I was pretty sure Druids had been around...

A walk around the grounds and The Shining comes to mind...[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/55036639@N03/9591183655/]
I'll spare you more picks of the cemetery...but there are statues and two sections of graves. One for presumably patients who mostly died in the 1940s and 50s, and Franciscan Brothers in the other section with dates of death as recent as 2012.

Well, I have rambled on enough. Below is the money shot (shrine in the background). For those of you who have passed that sign and never slowed down....it's worth turning there, following to the end of the road and exploring. I just wouldn't do it near sundown...

Tag:

The new tag is Sunridge Park in Jefferson County. r11mja and the Facebook Group Sunday Morning Riders ride some pretty terrific roads through that area so take your time explore and climb the tower.

Grab: location exactly where Jason said it was....but

I was not even looking for it...just saw a park coming up on my GPS, thought I'd take a break and when I saw it I thought I remembered this being the tag. Dang sun was right in the camera no matter where I stood yesterday. Taking Tower road off Hillsboro House is a nice little 3-4 miles of narrow twisty along a ridgeline..slow but cool.

Sticking with the tower theme...

I see your tower and raise you a tower. Not a great destination unto itself but... so many people think the "first" good country roads out of STL are after exiting at 109. I say, see this, then go down Antire road a few miles, then turn right onto Jim Webb and meander south and west from there. 10 minutes past Kirkwood and it all starts getting good.

Hint 1:

Hint 2:

Hint 3: yeah.... you've all seen it from the highway...

and the tag:
