Both heads leaking at 80,000 miles
Did new gaskets and rings, how long can I wait to retorque? I have about 200 miles on them now, but need to do a quick 800 mile trip....
If I change the oil at 600, can I wait till 1000 to do the retorque? Funny thing is, I did all this by the book and through the dealer initially. Still needed a warranty rebuild at 30,000...so I'm thinking I need not worry. I mean what is the worst that could happen? Another rebuild? Still, for some reason I do worry. |

For the gasket the number of heat cool cycles is more important. If you have more than 4 or 5, then I would go ahead and retorque and change oil. Then maybe at 6K you can retorque again.
