I didn't mind the weather other than it cut some riding short
And there is nothing better than the smell of wet evergreens as you motor along the forest roads.

Epilogue - the ride home

Finally getting around to wrapping this up - it will be short

Up at 0345 and on the road at 0415 - Donna will take a taxi to the airport later so I get an early start

0500 the rain starts and goes until about 1130 when the the temps go to 90+. Rain gear off.

your typical 5 car accident on the Tappan Zee Bridge slows things a crawl

Rain again on the NJ Turnpike (in the small world department a cowwrker caging home from NYC sees me pulling on raingear on the side of the road)
Visibility goes to about 30 feet. Rain stops after 30 minutes and temps go to 95.

Traffic slows to a crawl at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and it takes 30 minutes to go 6 miles.

For me the best view on any trip

IT'S ALL OVER

and the bead rider is a keeper!

I met you in Liverpool, when I was gassing up (two KLR's, one tan, one black). Hope you enjoyed your trip, although you sure picked a rainy month to ride. Cheers

I wish everybody would stop saying Meat Cove... It sets off my inner 13 year old.
Glad you are home safe and sound with another adventure under your belt.

MMMMMMMM.....Meat........Cove. It's too bad the weather sucked when you were here, although I've been here 20 years and the weather has sucked for most of it. Maybe that's what makes it cool to travel when the sun is out.

Wow that's a cannonball of a day - I'm in DC and really enjoyed your ride report. I'm planning a NS trip this summer and your realistic mileage while in NS is helpful for planning. In a place like NS, less is more, right!
