Thanks for your comments....I havn't been on here for a few days and just now noticed it.....I'm just starting on your cross-country RR and since it's looking good already, I'm going to go back and finish it. Thanks for sending that and the others along. I'll check them all out.

Do you have any suggestions for riding down along Lake Michigan on the N.E shoreline? I'm not sure where that one road goes up in the far corner of the lake.

Have any of you been around Lake Michigan and if so, do you have any advice about what roads to take and what things to stop and see along the way? I'd like to do that trip this summer and am now thinking of going all around it..

Hi Gary: It's interesting to see such familiar sights through someone else's eyes. I grew up in MN and have made 4 trips around Superior. The last two were made on my new Wee Strom, one trip in each direction.
If you decide to repeat your ride please PM me and I'll give you a list of some of the cool things you missed but I'll spare you that agony now.

This is another photo that I found taken while going through the Oak Creek Canyon, near beautiful Sedona, AZ. This is an awesome area to ride in and I'm going back soon!

Plan to take some time in Door County WI, and Leelanau Couinty MI.. and the road through the "tunnel of trees" from Cross Village to Harbor Springs, MI

I've heard of these places but didn't know where they were so thanks again for this helpful information. Plans are to make the solo trip in July or Aug.

Great Ride Report Oldone.

That scooter is a sight with those boxes hanging off the sides !

I am amazed at how little civilization is around the lake.

The scenery is wonderful.
Seems you have a lot to enjoy around there.
And the roads look like my kind of roads too.
Not too challenging, but nice gentle curves and great scenery.
I guess I prefer scenery over thrill !

Trust me, pictures never turn out the same as when you are there.
Nothing can replace actually being there, no matter how good a picture is.

By doing so you have given back to all of us more than you realize,
because now we can dream of riding around Lake Superior too.

Thanks for the comments.....Those are always nice to get and make a person feel like maybe the time taken was worth it. You're so right though, there's miles upon miles of open land around the lake, with beautiful scenery almost everywhere you look. even when you aren't right on the water. I hope I can do the whole thing again, maybe the other way around the next time. There were plenty of things that we missed too so that's another reason to go back.

Thanks again for posting. Sorry that I wasn't able to respond at first but I had a very ill computer that I was tending to. I guess it's feeling better now, at least I'm sure getting more rest and have more hopes that it might be healed up pretty much.

Great ride report. I enjoyed it. I am planning on doing a ride around Lake Superior next summer and I made a note of some places from your report that I want to make sure I see. Thanks for posting the report.

Thanks for your comments. I read your nice ride report and now that makes me think of doing something like that too. I'm going to at least try to ride down the east side of Lake Michigan and then cross over and ride back up on the west side of Lake Huron. At least that would be better then nothing!
