The transformation begins

Enough of this posing on crap MS streets it's time for this bad boy to go to a racetrack!!


The add list:

Speigler two line brake kit up front
Vesrah RJL race pads
Vortex engine sliders left and right
Race bodywork
Ohlins 30 mil cartridge in the front forks
JRi rear shock
520 chain with tight track gearing
Quick shifter
Vortex rearsets
Safety wire

Stripped and ready for parts to be added.


I should have all race bodywork painted and all the go fast stuff added by January. I have done a lot this weekend. On track come spring 2013.

Well I'm bikeless at the moment. Sent the Tenere's brain in for a little electroshock therapy. Hopefully it will return with no memory of the horrors it has undergone.



See the upper left there, the big gaping hole? That's the empty cranial cavity.



Fingers crossed that the good folks at AF1 in Texas know what they're doing.

Did you at least try fixing it yourself before you sent it?

Vortex rearsets, foot pegs are like little razor blades. Boot not slipping off peg.

The front forks are at the suspension shop right now being upgraded to a Ohlins 30 mil kit. They may be back along with a new JRi rear race shock as early as next week. This bike is going to be a powerhouse racebike. Big HP with superior handling.

Nope, I know better. Last time I wrote computer code was in about 8th grade when schools still required you to learn how to write computer code in computer class.

But actually I guess I did try and "fix" it via various tricks found on the forums and careful attention to balancing the throttle bodies. Then I realized I was losing about 8mpg, or 20% of my gas mileage. Once I did the math, the re-flash of the ECU didn't seem so expensive. Plus the re-flash is being dome for regular gas instead of premium, I get to run ethanol free and save money. Happy, happy, happy.

Now you need to make a rear mud guard to protect the shock. I just super glued a heavy duty tube to the battery box & zip tied the bottom to the dog bones. If you decide to screw something to the battery box, then be sure to move stuff out of the way first.
