Wow that's great, this must be the smoothest RMS pre start in years!

Now, what could possibly go wrong?

Not so smooth, all our spares and truck contents are in the same container as Ned's bike.

Bill, Your bike looks rather complete next to Jonah's still in the crate. I noticed in the pic from the warehouse that your shipping crate was a good bit larger than Jonah's. Did you ship it close to final configuration, or did you have to perform a bunch of re-assembly?

When does your wrench show up?

Good luck getting the spares and tires container.

BC called last night from Mar Del Plata. He sounds great, is in good health and spirits, and is ready to go racing.

The truck hauling his bike pulled up as we were talking . good to know hes got a bike to swing a leg over. Too bad the truck did not have a lift gate as his crate was 700+ lbs. Apparently, they found a lift truck or something to unload the crates, as the pic shows his bike unloaded and uncrated. Whew!

It appears he has everything he needs to get the bike through tech inspection even if his box of spares and tires is delayed.

He was pleased to have an opportunity to chat with Jonah Street and others in a somewhat relaxing atmosphere. Tips on navigation and other race issues from experienced DAKAR racers is a real bonus.

Bill indicated that the language barrier is challenging but by employing creative gesturing, pictures, and charades hes confident he can get by.
I believe hes picking up the ASO provided navigation electronics today.

GO BC61!!!

Cheers Bill. Stoked to hear yours and Jonahs bike are there and ready for check in tomorrow. Bummer about the stress of the spares, wheels and Neds bike being delayed. It'll all work out

Sitting in Santiago, Chile enjoying the scenery. Should make MdP tonight. Robb and the truck show up yet?

Laugh Road Book

I just watched the Road Book show on Eurosport. I'm glad Bill is good at navigating. He's going to need it. A lot of dunes this year. He'll do great. Maybe that's where Bill will shine and come through at the top.
