I'm looking for a longer term solution for keeping and working on one bike, with the possibility of two bikes at any given time. Just had a shocker, in TN Cycle Gear charged $20 a tire to change them and in San Diego they charge nearly double... Anyone know a cheaper place to get tires swapped and balanced? Wheels are already off the bike and I have the tires ready to go.

I have a friend that does it for 10$ mount and balance. It's on his time, which is saturday open garage time at his house. If anyone is interested, PM me for info. I will require that we go together for the first time, and I will explain the rules of using HIS HOUSE as a bike maintenance location. Nothing is charged, donations only. (except for the tire changes)

Does it matter the brand of bike?

Thanks for the tip. It was $30 a wheel at Clairemont Cycle but only $20 a wheel at Full Throttle Motorsports in Santee... Nothing else to do today so the drive out to Santee to save $20 was worth it.

I just paid forty bucks to put a back tire on my Tiger 800XC at South Bay Motor Sports.

Full Throttle Powersports in Santee at the end of 125 N. I don't have the exact address, but his # is 619 258-0400. The guy who runs it (Mike) is pretty cool and the prices are great.

Had some tires done there and he's always helped me out with stuff. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for a good repair shop in East County.

It's not far from North Park either... And with those prices it is worth the drive.

North County guys..

$10 if your rim is off the bike at Hermans Tuning in Vista off of the 78 and Emerald. They will usually do it while you wait.

I'm going to get out for a big bike backcountry ride on Sunday morning. Anyone interested in heading out? Thinking out by 7:00ish...done by 2:00ish.

Just completed the northbound portion of my trip from SD to SF. I've never done the HWY 1 ride through Big Sur, so that was my focus It was better than I thought it could possibly be. Really looking forward to the trip back home on Monday
