Garmin 276c question

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 276c from my SP-III and have one question. When Garmin went from the SP-III to the newer 2610, the "recalc" time improved dramatically. It went from several minutes to a couple seconds. This can be a big deal if you do recalcs very much on a long route. How fast is the 276c? tks,

ReCalc

I've got the 2620 (yes, the micro drive sucks on the bike and I am fighting with Garmin to replace it with a solid state) and the recalc time is remarkable. This is my first GPS and I am amazed at the speed which it recalcs. When I miss a turn or ask for a reroute it will change in seconds.

I have since tried an SPIII and am amazed that people put up with the recalc time.

Don't get the 2620 unless you can get a solid state CF as I'm certain the microdrive hates motorcycles.

I've been using the 276c for over a year now and the re-calc times are very quick. I'd say it is in the few seconds range. I've been very happy with the 276c, using it on the motorcycle, the car, and with the boat. Nothing to complain yet except maybe the proprietary storage cards which are a bit on the expensive side. Make sure you've the latest firmware installed; they made some nice changes recently.

Before I bought my 2610 last summer, I called Garmin to ask if the 2620 is suitable on a bike and they said no, the microdrive may not work. I've since heard that you might be able to replace it with a flash card.

Side by side the GPSmap 276C is slightly faster than a SP2610
