Eh? Wanting a new 1190...but.......

Would really like to take my hard earned cash and purchase a new 1190R. However it seems that KTM is using the public as their test group.... Heat under the seat, Air box and the trouble starting. If we the consumer would stick together and not purchase these products until they get it sorted out than perhaps they would...? Anyone of you guys that have purchased a new 1190 please do not show your stupidity by posting complaints in the Slow starting thread, the Air box thread and the heat under the seat thread. You knew of these problems before hand. This is as bad as the Beemer groups.....! Flame away.... And yes, I have owned the brand (2) 950's and a 690R...

Knowing some of the initial teething issues the 1190 seems to have, I would still buy one.

What is the best overall motorcycle you can buy right now?

I would think anyone visiting this forum would agree that the 1190(non-R/R) is one of the candidates. The question then becomes, do the known issues with the 1190 make some other model (probably with its own set of issues) the better candidate?

+1. Still a great bike and all bikes have issues here and there, even Hondas!

2 Cents

Every time I think I am bailing on this bike after switching over from the GS & looking at a 800 XC, I can not find anything as light, capable, safe, tall, and fast/with as much torque while still looking darn good (can't stand the new GSAs, as much as I love beemers). I have had no issues with the UNI that I know of (i.e., warping, as others have experienced, nor lack of power). As said before (and in other forums), every bike has there issues. I'm sticking with my R for better or worse.

I'm just saying that we should be able to use the collective power of us, the consumer, to force companies to provide a quality product. Instead of just lining their pockets......

No shit! I hope those 3 whiners get rid of their bikes soon. And they are probably the ones that are keeping the bike on road bitching about dust.

I think you are just dreaming mate, KTM is not a perfect set up, never will be, neither will any of the other companies etc..

I can only suggest you get yourself to your local dealer take the 2014 1190 for a 1 hour ride, and then make up your mind..
If you dont like it dont buy it...
If you do like it and buy it, get us some photos
What excites me about my 1190 is the engine mate, i just love it...
