Thursday
Leaving Matagami Lake Campground we rode south to the checkout point for the JBR. We headed for the gas pumps in town and had a morning snack at the convenience store. I did see in the store 10.1% alcohol beer. The same brand was lined up in the cooler by alcohol content. 6.5, 7.5, 8.5 and 10.1. That is some serious beer me thinks.
We rode 109 south to Amos. Here is where we had a chance to change the scenery a little. We continued on 109 instead of back tracking all the way home. Near Riviere-Heva we turned on west 117 toward Rouyn-Noranda. This road goes through several small towns and then the much larger town of Rouyn-Noranda. It seemed like a big city after all the small towns we had been in for few days. Following 117 we headed for Ontario where the route changes to 66. We reached 11 south and headed for North Bay. Up to this point we had known where we were going to stay at night. We used the GPS today to find a nice camp just outside of town across the street from Lake Nipissing. Supper was at East Side Marios on Lakeshore Drive, OUTSTANDING FOOD!!! Eye Candy not bad either. OK I'm a pig. Pic is of a lake at a roadside rest stop in Ontario. It's even pretty where you pee!

Friday
Somehow Litespeed saved the best for last. Our last day in Canada was exceptional! I don't know how he could have picked better roads without ever having been here before.
![]() We left our campground and rode 11 south toward Huntsville. Here we picked up 60 east. This is a designated scenic road and did not disappoint us. Traveling through Oxtounge River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park then Algoquin Park. This route, for me, was the best of the trip. We stopped at the Canoe Lake access area for breakfast. What a meal. Litespeed and I both ordered the Porter's Breakfast. It was huge. Sorry no pic. I was so excited (and hungry from our 120 mile ride to get there) that I didn't take a photo. 10 pieces of bacon (I counted),3 eggs, home fries, toast, juice, and coffee. The access area at canoe lake was hopping with canoeists leaving for the weekend. A great facility. We rode 60 to Whitney and turned on 127 to Maynooth. Then 62 to Bancroft. We were zig zagging all the time. At Bancroft we rode 26 to Denbigh then 41 south to Napanee. All of these roads were nice two lane all the way to 401 east. This was a short ride to 137 and the Thousand Islands Bridge. In the morning we had decided if we got to 401 early in he afternoon we would head for the border. If we were there late we would wait and do the border crossing later or the next morning to avoid the anticipated Friday rush. We arrived at the checkpoint at 3:00 and were through by 3;20. We decided to run down 81 a few miles and look for a campground. The GPS found one but it was a by the season RV park. We had seen signs for a state park right down the road. Went there, no camping. the lady directed us to another state park 12 minutes away. This was the longest 12 minutes in man's recorded history. It was a great campground nonetheless. Selkirk Shores State Park. We ate supper at the mom and pop diner across from the campground entrance. Cherry's. I had a haddock sandwich and double order of sweet potato fries. YUMMY

Lake Ontario
After supper I needed a walk to burn off some of those fries.
This time I think this is really Lake Ontario. If not, my lake guide klondike1 may be able to help.
