have fun. bring plenty of water & maybe a cooling vest for the southern desert section. it will be hot. that time of the year the COBDR might be a more comfortable route.

I'm doing the UTBDR in May and starting in the south. I'm praying for a dry few days before and during the ride. The video freaked me out about rain and red clay.

I'm going to try to find someone to do it with me in September. I'm going to bring my WR250r and push hard to finish it fast.

Some friends and I attempted the UTBDR about a week ago (late april/early may). We weren't able to get any further north than just outside of Blanding. We encountered deep snow (at least a foot) at 9000ft and above and had to turn back. I'm guessing it won't be passable for at least another month.

Bummer. How long did it take you to get to blanding?

One day to get to Blanding then another half day or so out of blanding to the point where we had to turn back. Places like La Sal pass and other high elevation spots will definitely be impassable this time of year. I'll be attempting it again mid-July.

I'm locked for this trip. I'll go as far as I can and then turn back. That will be better riding than anything in going to see around home.

Then I'll jump on pavement and get back on the trail at a lower elevation.

Understood- but I'm scheduled for mid-June.

Curious about the experience of other folks.
