My first mini bike when I was ten was a Traihopper 50cc suzuki Then when I turned 16 I bought a year old 82 550 katana then I moved to a new 83 gs750e sold it a year later and did not get another bike until last year.. Yeah 25 years later.. so this is what I bought from the original owner, unrestored!

Here's my '08 DL650 that I bought used last August. I pimped it up, er, I mean farkled it up, over the winter. It's only the second bike I've owned but I like everything about it. Great for long trips, around town, on the slab or in the twisties. I think it looks great too.

My other bike's a Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa. The Sherpa's a great little bike but if and when I upgrade to a bigger, true dual sport, it will be a Suzuki DR.

I like Suzuki because they still carry parts, even for my thirty five year old bikes.

I can't really say I'm a Suzuki loyalist but 4/5 bikes I currently own are Suzuki. Take that for what it's worth.

My current favorite and daily rider. 1978 GS1000 (slightly modded)

Sitting in a farmers field in Ohio at the Mid-Ohio Vintage Bike Show.

I have a blast pushing the old girl through the corners. Heading to Deal's Gap for lunch (a perk of being local.)

Another GS in the stable. 1980 GS450E, also have an 81 but it's in lots of little pieces at the moment being cleaned up. Bought the two 450's in a package deal for my wife but she's adopted another of my toys.

Picked up this 1974 GT185 with a whooping 500 miles on it because I wanted something ring-dingy to play with. They aren't worth much but this thing is in such great shape I may restore it. My wife loves this thing. Fits her perfectly.

I come by it honestly I suppose. My 78 with my dads 79 GS1000S. His second one actually. He raced his first in club level racing in TX when I was a kid. Regretted getting rid of it for years until he finally decided it was time to remedy that mistake.

My dr big 800

My bulletproof 91 DR BIG gets me all over & never misses a beat...best all rounder for me. The motor is strong as a tractor & has so much character. I have owned DR's from a 85 600 to a 96 650 & now have the SR43 800 & a SR 41 750. All great bikes which have never let me down. Who cares if Suzuki don't put much paint on em !

My sv and a friend's
Any time something's fallen off it was still attached enough to pull over and reattach it fully except for the two license plates I lost last month. I've invested in some thread lock. Hasn't left me stranded even when it was running on one and intermittently on two cylinders in a torrential down pour. Granted I thought I may die, but, I didn't. Every problem I've had with it has pretty much been some fault of my own. Most frequently ignorance being the case. You live and you learn. While some of the stylings of other bikes may be better the maintenance scheduel, reliability and price cannot be beat. The only thing I hate is my suspension but that's cuz I'm too ignorant and lazy to set my sag proper...good day

When I started this thread I had 3 nice Zukis, all of which I have sold. Today I picked this up. 2001 DRZ400S, 4400 miles, $2195. Always wanted one, couldn't pass up this deal.

I had one like this back in the 80s - mine was black. I'd like to have another one.
