You can ride this route MB. The only thing to fight is horn mountain and horn valley road starts right next to horn mountain road and takes a smooth dirt/paved road through the valley and comes out at almost the same spot.

I am in

Been looking for a big bike ride to do. Wife is due in Feb. so I have to get a lot of riding in before the baby comes.

Supposedly there is a dirt route from Cataloochee to Knoxville...anyone have any info on this? Havent done much research on it, but that could be another leg to this. Then hit Knoxville and slab it home.

Just looked at the map in detail. Looks like a lot of that was included in the Dixie DS ride thats in November, nice riding in that area and it would be nice to ride something other than gravel.

Yep, I still have the route sheet for that around here somewhere. I guess we could set this for a saturday and a sunday, and if you want to camp at Horsestomp you can, if you don't, you just start heading back, and if looks like the route back is going to take too long, you could just drop the route and take pavement back.
