Chaingolian weather report
For Sunday May 30. Spectacular storms everywhere, but, with the proper guide, you can ride around, between, and through them when necessary. Thanks for another outstanding ride Chain. You and Mrs. Chain are great hosts. I hope you managed to avoid most of that monster storm on your way home.
MotoJoe and Elektron caught up to me on 17 where we were trapped in a huge line of caged Chaingolians fleeing the wrath of the storm. Joe led us up 89 to 18 as fast as dirtbikes can travel. When we hit 39, the west skies were a giant black rotating mess. Emergency vehicles and storm spotters were parked on the overpasses and the wide-eyed looks we received from the cagers as we passed were truly something to see. I turned off on 80 East and thought I was home free, nope, for every storm I outpaced, another would form over me. I made it home and parked the bike just as the skies opened up. What a great day of riding... sand, mud, gravel, twisty backroads, and an interstate race with mother nature where she let me win. Mike |

this weekend was a truly amazing experience. the rides through the lesser
known 'streets' of chaingolia were wet and perilous at times. at other times they were laid back and beautiful. they were always fun. the gracious host and charming royal family were great company round the fire and round the house. some pics (my camera got pretty wet, so a lot of the pics are foggy) : the ride down got a little more interesting along chaingolian route 29.. a lot more green and a little tiny bit curvy due to the chaingolian river... ![]() next day, morning hail storm... ![]() after it 'cleared' up ;-) ... ![]() after the mud got the best of me. it was the death wings i swear ... ![]() we stopped by the farm, and rode the creek and such. what a blast ! ![]() ![]() after splitting up with D, this scary thing just kept getting closer ... ![]() when the large dark cloud finally passed overhead from the west, we were pounded by an insane wind. this was followed closely by a torrential downpour the likes of which chaingolians normally experience once in a great while. the wind and rain just got worse. maybe ten or fifteen minutes later we had to stop for fear of being blown off the road or struck by a flying cow or something. we took shelter and i smoked what could have been my last cigarette. ![]() as you can tell by the fact that i'm posting, we ended up making it home safe but wet and cold. in closing, long live king chain ! i am not worthy. thanx.. lets do it again sometime.. |

wow
after departing from my faithful clan of chain links I entered the storm of storms aprox 7 miles south of Lacon. there were branches blowing across the road in front of me. I should have known when two people stopped to warn us at the petrol stop the weather was about to turn very intense.
I pushed on. at times there was standing water on the roadway as deep as my axles. not sure about the twister that was spotted in tazewell county as the rain was comming down to hard to see. I probably should have pulled over but for some reason I couldnt get myself to stop pushing on. I made to the bike shop where I found drymike sipping on some sierra pale ales, needless to say I joined him in consumption until the rain let up then eased on back to the castle. I have some very good photos Ill try to get them posted. All in all a great band of chaingolians on a most awesome weather riddled adventure. This my friends IS the good ol days the old couple in the restraunt were talking about.............

Chain, As I have stated and will continue to say your simply the king. Ride safe and often, thanks for everything.
About the pics, Elektron may be a better info source. Quote:
Fist, Get your ass in gear and make the next ride. Then Elektron won't be the only one tearing it up DRZ style. And get that bad boy street legal so we can ride down town on some dirt bikes and get a bite to eat some time with a few advriders |
