tank vest doesn't fit over Safari tanks on KTM 990R

Hello Mike,

figured I should give some feedback. I originally posted a question in this thread about whether or not you thought a vest would fit on my 990R with the giant safari tanks.

I took a shot and ordered one, and then promptly got sent on a work trip overseas for 2 months. I got home and got to try to fit it and it while one can get the barely get straps routed around the combination, the tailoring to match the stock tanks means that it fits really poorly over the Safaris.

So if folks contact you asking, it can be strapped on, but they would likely have to do some tailoring to make it fit in a way that looks ok and isn't stretched crazily up front and all floppy and saggy farther back. I'm not sure if I'm going to take a shot at tailoring mine yet or re-sell it on fleamarket to someone with a basic setup.

The vest is very well made, I like the product a lot, wish it would have worked out, good luck with the business.

Thanks for the heads up on that Paul. If I can get a Safari to pattern, I'll do so and I'll let you know. Let me know if you decide to re-tailor it. I'd like to see the results. I appreciate the feed back and I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.

Was browsing on the net and found this comment about the Tank Vest.

"Got it in the mail today, riding tomorrow. First impressions, this thing is well built and heavy. Feels very solid. I'll be back with a trail report."

And...

"This thing is tough. The klr took a nap at the top of a rocky hill climb. My canteen took the brunt of the fall and I've seen no damage to the molle stitches or anything. I had to drag the bike down the hill to stand it. Giving it two thumbs up for now until I manage to break it."

It's difficult to show how tough the Tank Vest is through pictures. The words of our customers do a much better job.

Mike

Not yet. I have feelers out though. I'll find one given a bit of time.

There has been a very high demand for a Tank Vest for the V-Strom. We should have it available for sale in the next two weeks. We do have a waiting list on the V-Strom now, that list will receive the first ones. If interested, please send us an email at sales@tankvest.com with your contact info, make sure you list that it's for the V-Strom and what color you'd like.

Here's a couple of teaser pics...

I work retail sales, so unless the question is asked 4 weeks in advance... I'll be working.
