![]() Anyone notice a sneaky little indicator on the dash here? Didn't see anything in their statements that pointed to that being on this bike, but then again every BMW bike coming into the country in 2012 and on will have it as well!

The more I see it, the more I like it.
Every new angle confirms, this thing just looks plain menacing. Could it be re-defining the hooligan bike? Add ABS, a surprisingly reasonable seat height of 34ish inches....what's not to like?

I am still full of hope and optimism....but deep down I fear you may be correct.

Last I checked, these bikes weren't scheduled for a US release any time soon, if ever (has anyone heard otherwise?).
The dealer network would be a major issue. If BMW were serious about these bikes (and they seem to be, given that they generated more buzz with this Nuda than Husqvarna ever has) they would have to dramatically expand their dealers in NA, or maybe have their main brand dealers sell Husqvarna as well (which could be really cool). If they were to be sold here, I am guessing the price would be around $11K for the base and $14 for the R, to compete with the Hyper/Dorsoduro/SMR/etc. I think they look awesome, and it is nice to see the folks in Varese have the opportunity to expand the marque and attempt to give it a unique identity.

And prize goes to...

IMHO prize should go to GSG Mototechnik (sorry for the dirt, been through rain all day, it looks a lot sleeker than that when clean!) ![]()

8k redline?!? My sv1000 redlines at 11k, pulls strong to 9.5, and it isn't exactly a race engine!? Seems a bit conservative?

That was my issue when I test rode the F800R - plenty of torque, but a heavy flywheel and the motor didn't exactly like to rev. Yeah, it went ok, but it wasn't real playful.

Cool looking bike, but I don't think I could get with a bike named after a brand of condom.

Press intro going on in Sardinia - we will have some ride reports very soon.
In the meantime... it's easy to see that the target for this bike is the European motard/crossover, Hyper 796 buying, younger demographic: Still very cool, even all street legal and stuff.

![]() Why would you want ABS on a bike like this?
