Regular readers (both of them) will remember this bridge from an earlier visit: ![]() ~ Do you see it? It's in the distance, directly above the RK. ~

Can't see it? I barely could, and I knew it was there. Here's a closer look from the same spot, with full optical zoom: ![]() |

I left North Carolina and entered Virginia on new-to-me Amostown Road, which becomes George Taylor Road at the NC/VA border. I really enjoyed both roads, especially George Taylor Road, which has many photo ops for the taking, but I was running out of day and had to leave a lot of photos on the table. Seeds for another trip. These were taken at the border crossing. My papers were in order, and they waved me right on through. ![]() |

Sir:
I would be remiss if I did not add my thanks to you for the many wonderful photos. I, too, enjoy trains and have had the opportunity to visit Cass; your pictures are outstanding. There is much discussion on these boards about the "best" motorcycle but I would be hard pressed to argue any other choice would be as fitting as your Harley for the rides you do. Ride safe. Ned |

Ferris,
Wonderful ride report and photos,I don't get to ride anymore do to daughter's illness she needs me more than I to ride. Your report allows me to enjoy the ride without getting to ride. You need to check out Spencer Shops in Spencer NC it was largest steam train shop on east coast.NC transportation museum is at Spencer shops and has many trains and shop that restores steam trains,It is a one of a kind place for train lovers,Spencer is just south of Lexington. , |

What is Nance Family Park? I don't rightly know. There's nothing here but a several-acre patch of tightly-cropped ground and a small outbuilding, an old farmstead, perhaps, nestled in a quiet little hollow fronting a serene, sleepy stream. I was the only one here. I've spent a fair amount of time online looking for clues, but so far have come up empty-handed. ![]() I was short on day at this point,
and although I wanted to spend some time getting to know Nance Park with my camera, I only took three photographs here. I'll be back. |
