Most of West Texas hasn't seen a rain storm in so long, riding thru one is pretty much a distant memory...

Haha, this was in September last year, around Fredericksburg. Absolute downpour. Where in Texas are you?

Besides the small leak it is in very good condition.
I might decide to use it instead of the new one,
if it works out that way I'll sell you the new one.

I'll know by next Monday and PM you.

Rolling out in a few hours to pick up a low mile
690 basket bike from BajaDad.

She's wondering why I need two, the same reason
for having two 990's

If you're in Sun Valley then the reason is to ride the Banks-Lowman road!! Rode it last year and loved it!!

Wish I could visit your state more often...

ICO Fitment

I'm struggling a bit with setting up my ICO. I screwed the sensor into the stock tapped hole in the brake mount. In this position it does not pick up a magnetic bolt. I then epoxied a magnet onto the disk carrier on the sensor's sweep. In this location its fine up to 130kph, then it goes haywire. The closure time/distance when mearured along the rim is only 2" - 5cm, less than the suggested spec. Any experience with running an ICO on a 690 specifically?

I drilled a hole in my inner rotor to mount the magnet metal putty. I'll try and get a photo tonight. My ICO was good up to 160 kph at which time I couldn't go any faster.

I am guessing you are using the silver cased ICO?

Clutch master leaking

Hey all.

My clutch master is leaking quite a bit... to the point where there is oil on my hand guards. It doesn't seem to have an effect on the action yet.

Normally this wouldn't bother me and I would run her till she doesn't work. However, I am in Uzbek right now and headed deeper into asia. The last good KTM dealer was in Istanbul. Does one rebuild or order a whole replacement?

Yes, the VR Light. Appreciate it, thanks. I thought that there was not enough material to really drill into the inner ring. Did you screw the sensor into the hole or did you use the tab provided by ICO?

tune ecu wings pipe running lean

Just installed akra map and wings pipe. Bike runs good but spark plug is now greyish-white (LEAN). Anyone have this exhaust ? If so what did you change in tune ecu? So far I've just been increased fuelling across the board in both F and L maps by 4%, and plug is pretty much the same colour.

Cheers!

Yo Noah!

Depends if it's just the seal or if the bore is worn out... In the latter case instead of replacing it, I would try to find a good machine shop that can sleeve it with a stainless sleeve, this would last much longer than the aluminum bore.

If the wall thickness is not sufficient you can also go down to a 9mm piston, bit more travel but easier clutch pull.
