That washer must be a new thing. Mine didn't come with it. Would be nice. My spring sometimes spins when adjusting preload.

You'd think they could figure that out first time. Mine doesn't have the washer either.

Maybe we could get SPS to offer the washer for a small fee.

On race car shocks, we use Torrington bearings. Inexpensive, and make preload adjustments much easier.

I'm in. Although I don't cherish the thought of unwrapping the package under my seat to make it install a washer. But then I'm lazier than most.

Yep- 10 minutes w a dremel and dry fitting on the first peg, then 5 minutes of grinding on the other peg..soo much better than the stockers.

I bought these pegs years back, mounted tem on the '03 and '07 640A, then fitted them to this bike.

I must admit, I probably wouldn't tear into it just to install the washer. I would do the install at some future time when I was greasing up the link or something.

I'm throwing around the idea of having a second set of wheels for my 2011 690, I know nothing of wheels though.

What fits? What do I need to look for?
Is it much more complicated than just getting a couple 18/21 wheels and finding correct spacers?

Any information would be excellent.
(I am not buying anything new)

Misfire

I did a search for "misfire" and only found one result, so I apologize if this is a bit of a noob question, BUT:

Has anyone had their bike misfire and die while at speed? I had it happen 4 times the other day, all in similar circumstances. Around 5-6k RPM and on the throttle hard in top gear (so around 75-85 mph). It's like the engine burped for a second and quit firing. The FI light comes on and each time I just turned the key off and started it back up no problems and with no FI light on.

Bad injector? Spark plug? What should I check first?

Thanks

Riddle me this.

While out on a recent ride, I lost the entire plastic tail section of my 690. The fender remained, just the rear section that holds the tail light/turn signals/plate. Luckily, I found the remains and was able to salvage my plate, but the rest was irreparable. Bought me a new shiny tail light, but the turn signals I ordered from SAR were on back order and the KTM replacements (warranty) wont be here for at least 2 weeks.

The problem I need cleared up: The new tail light works properly, plugs in fine (the damaged one only pulled the wires out of the housing itself) BUT the brake light does not come on. Not sure if it is due to me not having the turn signals installed to complete a circuit ?? OR is there a fuse that popped that I am not seeing ??
