Do I just need the RR....or one of the kits with the wires and connectors....I haven't removed the Safari tank yet and haven't eyeballed the situation yet....which "kit" do I need??

Ordered the comm cable from CJ Designs. Will perform the de-cat this week and I need to tweek a few things in the EFI maps. Now everyone seems to be out of the service manuals. Can one of you FF's share the correct values for the THAD and PPAD so I can check them for the proper voltage readings? I think the manual is a few weeks out. 2013 model.

Only thing you need to decide is whether you prefer the maxi fuse (big blade fuse) or circuit breaker option. 3 ft of wire is plenty.

If I got one of his "kits" I would get the The Super Mosfet Kit FH020AA with the maxifuse holder. That way the only soldering (or crimping) you need to do is the three wires from the stator.

It won't be as clean of an install due to the premade wire harness being longer than needed but, it limits the amount of soldering you need to do and would greatly speed up the installation time.

What is the hot ticket in lighting? The HID or the LED? I used to think the HID was the way to go, but not so sure anymore.

What say you?

KTM Twins has a complete HID set-up with a Duke wind screen,

The trailtech HID's have had their share of reliability issues (mostly short lived ballast's.) The kit in your picture isn't DOT approved anyway, so an 8" HID race light would be a better option... you could even convert it to 7" DOT hi/low and then convert to HID to make an "almost legal" race light. That is the route that I went, but honestly after seeing some higher end LED's, they throw nearly the same distance while having better flood, no warm up time, more compact, similar power draw, stock(ish) appearance, and a dimmer can be mounted to give a "low" setting (aim will still be the same, just less intense output... again, "almost legal")

I'm a big fan of the BD Squadron, put one on my Husaberg 390 and it has been very reliable and rugged.

Takes a bit of wiring trickery but not bad. The Skene Designs is the best dimmer to integrate with the existing switchgear. The Squadron is too bright for use on highways and oncoming car, but knocking it down to 20% to 30% or so makes it tolerable for the cars and easily the equivalent of "Low beam" Halogen to play nice with cars.

If you do go with the Skene Designs, it's best to get at least the IQ-150-A and add a high beam "flasher" button to program it and also allow you to use the Alert! feature, which is awesome for vehicles getting ready to pull out in front of you.

Looks great, I just called and they are saying the units are about 2-3 weeks out right now. There's a circuit board on back order. He did say that the KTM dimmer box kit 66-0088 makes the whole shootin' match a plug and play affair with the bike's high beam/low beam switch.
